«Pharma is love»: Promomed again united students of the largest universities in Russia

Promomed 20 October 2022

Promomed Group supported a series of events named «Pharma is love» which took place at the Ogarev Mordovia State University. For the second year in a row, this event brings together student communities of the largest Russian educational institutions to acquaint young people with the prospects and opportunities that a career at the Promomed’s Biokimik plant opens up, and to remind them that doing science is very exciting.

This year, the geography of the project has significantly expanded. Students from specialized universities from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Penza joined the online broadcast of «Pharma» events. Like last year, the event was opened by Petr Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group. In an atmosphere of friendly conversation, the speaker shared his professional experience with future specialists, answering students' questions.

«As one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Russia, we are doing a lot to improve facilities and resources: new workshops and a giant research center. We are very lucky that next to the country's leading pharmaceutical company, the Biokimik plant, there is Mordovia State University, with which we have a long history of cooperation. And most importantly, yesterday's graduates, when they get to us, begin to grow as professionals,» Petr Bely.

The series of events continued with lectures by recognized experts of the pharmaceutical community. This year, the invited speakers were scientists from the Mendeleev Russian Chemical Technical University: Svetlana Gelperina, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Biomedical Agents spoke about nanopharmaceutics and Yulia Ermolenko, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Biomedical Preparations, who made a presentation on capillary electrophoresis.

In addition to the educational part for young specialists, an information center for students was available, where Biokhimik employees advised everyone on internships, apprenticeships and further employment at the plant.

For many years Promomed Group and the Ogarev Mordovia State University have been strategic partners in the implementation of joint programs for education, research activities, student internships and advanced training of plant employees. The fruitful cooperation of the company and the university resulted in the foundation in 2018 of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Physiologically Active Substances for which the Biokhimik plant became the training facility.
