PROMOMED invests in school education: an online curriculum “Biochemist” was launched for the schoolchildren in Mordovia
November 26, Saransk. The online project “Biochemist” launched in Saransk 2 years ago was upscaled this year, becoming available for all senior school grades in the republic of Mordovia. University-level teaching staff will educate schoolchildren of grades 8-11 in chemistry and mathematics. The educational activities will take place online.
With support of PROMOMED, a dedicated space was set up Saransk Gymnasium #19 in Saransk, from where live broadcasts are conducted. Lectures are read by the leading teachers and lecturers of N.P. Ogarev Mordovian State University in the respective subjects.
“This is a truly unique project. There are no others of such kind in our republic or in the entire country. We are the innovators. Two years ago an offline “Biochemist” special curriculum was launched in Mordovian children. It was available to a limited number of children who wanted to study chemistry, biology and mathematics. The online format allows us to expand the project to the whole republic. This will help students make one of the most important decisions in their lives - choosing a profession according to their individual preferences”, said Alexander Rudko, Director, Operations, the Biokhimik joint stock company (JSC).
Today, more than 100 schoolchildren in Mordovia take those online classes. Everyone is welcome to join them. The curriculum is completely free of charge. Classes are held twice a week. Teachers help students better understand complex topics, prepare for contests, prepare for the Basic State Examination and the Unified State Examinations. The best graduates of the “Future Biochemist” curriculum will have an opportunity to undergo specialized education in the main university of the region - N.P. Ogaryov Moscow State University, as sponsored by the company. This will serve as a good starting point to acquire professional skills at the top-level biopharmaceutical production facility under the guidance of experienced mentors during their education, to be followed by a job at PROMOMED at Biokhimik JSC, a PROMOMED company.
