Promomed Group donated a thousand packages of Areplivir for treatment of residents of the Tula region

Representatives of Promomed Group held a charity event in Tula to handover the antiviral drug Areplivir. During the event, a working meeting was held between the Minister of Health of the Tula region Alexey Erk, First Deputy Chairman of the Tula Region Duma Marina Levina, deputy of the Tula Region Duma Andrey Dubrovsky and CEO of PROMOMED GROUP Andrey Mladentsev. The chief doctors of medical institutions of the region took part in the meeting via video conferencing. It was notes that the received 1000 packages of medicines will be distributed among medical institutions of the Tula region for the treatment of patients in hospitals and at home.

  According to Alexey Erk, despite the fact that the incidence of coronavirus is currently on decline, 8 infectious diseases hospitals continue to operate in the region. 885 beds have been deployed to help patients with COVID-19. «As part of the Promomed Group charity initiative, our region will be able to provide Areplivir to more than 600 patients undergoing treatment at home (one or more packages is/are needed for the course of treatment),» the Minister of Health says.

Andrey Mladentsev, CEO of Promomed Group, stressed that Areplivir is included in the guidelines for treatment of COVID-19 approved by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and in the list of vital and essential medicines.

«In the course of clinical studies, the drug demonstrated high efficacy and safety, preventing the disease progression to a severe form. Early initiation of antiviral therapy, including with the help of Areplivir, reduces the risk of complications and aggravation of the condition, and the risk of patients’ admission to an infectious hospital.»

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organize Promomed training webinars on the treatment of coronavirus infection for Tula doctors.

For reference: Promomed Group has been conducting an All-Russian charity program for the transfer of Areplivir to the regions since last year. Events with the participation of governors, heads of executive and legislative authorities were successfully held in Moscow, Leningrad, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Saratov, Kirov, Voronezh regions, the Republic of Mordovia, Perm Krai, the Republic of Dagestan and other regions. In total, PROMOMED donated more than 15 thousand packages of the anti-COVID-19 drug to the regions of Russia.
