Leading innovative biopharmaceutical company PROMOMED announces the launch of sales of the new-generation domestic medicine for the treatment of overweight and obesity, Welgia® Eco (active substance: semaglutide) in disposable injectors. The product is already available on online pharmacy platforms and in pharmacy chains nationwide. The key distinction of the new product is the complete absence of preservatives, elevating therapy to a new level of safety.
Welgia® Eco retains all the therapeutic benefits of semaglutide obtained through solid-phase synthesis. The absence of phenol and benzyl alcohol in the formulation, which can accumulate in the body, reduces the risk of adverse reactions in sensitive patients and those with comorbid liver and kidney diseases. The disposable injectors ensure ease and precision of hygienic and painless administration. The automatic injection mechanism helps to alleviate injection-related anxiety by concealing the skin puncture process from patient’s view.
Welgia® Eco is manufactured at PROMOMED’s own facilities, from active pharmaceutical substance to finished dosage form. The product line maintains the traditional five dosage strengths (0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 1.7 mg, 2.4 mg), as in the classical version of the drug. Each pack is designed for a one-month course of treatment.
